Project Instructions Your class project is to hand stitch your first Buttonhole. You will learn the Buttonhole stitch and how to create a nice-looking handmade Buttonhole. The last lesson will be about how to sew on a button to last and look pretty at the same time. So give this a try as well. Tools and Materials needed: A piece of fabric for practice A short hand sewing needle Thick thread A sewing machine and matching thread (you don´t need a sewing machine, you can do all seams by hand) Sharp small scissors Punch pliers for the eye if you have, but you can also make a Buttonhole without an eye Tailor´s chalk if you have, but a pencil will do the work as well Fabric glue, if you have, or wood glue A thimble, if you want to use one A button of your choice Remember to share a picture of your finished project or work-in-progress pictures with the other students and me in the project gallery. I´m looking forward to see your projects!
